RhinoGATOR is actively retooling…
It has been an amazing project to date, but without additional funding, we must put RhinoGATOR on hold. For those that have been using our job search tool to advance their career goals, we hope that we have been of help.
To those yet to try RhinoGATOR, we hope you get that chance.
Respectfully,
Jeff
The R1 Job Query Language
In the world of relational database management systems, like Oracle or MySQL, the power lies in the tool. These databases use SQL, or Structured Query Language, to drive performance. At RhinoGATOR, because our structured queries expose the full transparency of the net, we are able to produce better results in terms of both quality and quantity than all other job search tools.
Combined with “intelligent agents” empowered to seek out all sources of valid jobs, the proprietary R1 job search engine has no equal.
R1 Job Query Language + Intelligent Agents = Exposure of all job openings.
The most frequent question we get at RhinoGATOR is, “What makes YOU different?”
Only RhinoGATOR has the ability to gather every job from every corner of the net at will. Using a proprietary set of tools, our approach is to attack the root cause of the disconnect that exists in job searching today. RhinoGATOR technology takes the best Open Source Software (OSS) standards, throws in some ANSI standards like EDI (electronic data interchange), and reshapes them to specifically address our marketplace. This allows us to synthesize all job feeds—regardless the native format or location—into a coherent jobs database for our clients.
How is that different? We have a unique language or process to convert the various sources of job listings into a standard internal format for sharing with our job seekers. Yes, there are some loosely adopted standards in play for aggregators like Indeed or SimplyHired, yet different ones for Monster and yet others for CareerBuilder.
RhinoGATOR’s R1 job search engine is fully programmable to adopt and adapt any and all job feeds, making queries against our database of open job requisitions the most effective process for finding that next, best career.
Furthermore, we are focused on the needs of job seekers while most every other player in the marketplace is seeking to optimize the experience for the hiring companies that pay to have jobs posted on the internet. Consider, too, that aggregators like Indeed that claim to have more than 1000 job feeds and have been live since November 2004. Why does RhinoGATOR (we went live in December 2009) consistently pull more open jobs? It’s due to the sophistication of our R1 Job Query Language and intelligent agents.
Bye Bye to Job Spam
Have you ever done a job search and gotten back a “work at home” scheme or an “offer” to increase your education in order to qualify for the jobs you are already searching for? Have you gotten back a job that does not seem to match your keywords? At RhinoGATOR we are committed to eliminating job spam. We have developed several “filters” to attack this problem and more are on the drawing boards.
Put RhinoGATOR to the Test
Do a search on Monster and Indeed and compare the results. Then, try RhinoGATOR. When you see the surprising results, remember that RhinoGATOR is just three months old and still holds the bright promise of improvement.

Great question. Shows real urgency on the part of the Job Seeker. But a better question might be, “What are you doing to find your next, best career?”
Enter RhinoGATOR™
If you are still using the same old (tired!) Job Boards to do your job search, Einstein said it best, “Keep doing what you are, and you will get more of what you already have.” In other words, going faster with out-dated technology only makes you tired.
At RhinoGATOR, we took some time (and a lot of energy) and asked the tough questions. The ones most folks are too lazy to ponder. Such as, if in the last five years unemployment is at record highs, and yet there are more job openings each month (and there are according to the Department of Labor), why aren’t people getting back to work?
In a word, the system is BROKEN
It is just crazy to do the same tired searches over and over (and over!) and expect different results. If you want different results, you have to do something that you have never done before. Seems reasonable, perhaps even logical. Some might say, “common sense.”
Get yourself a Profile on RhinoGATOR and put us on your job search 24×7. As Dan Akyroyd said in “The Great Outdoors”, it’s what we do!
Did I mention job searches are free? They are, honest.

Which is better, the “quick” job search or the “thorough” job search?
Both
Sorry, could not help myself. Let’s put on our thinking caps, and consider how best to find a job. Obviously more results should equal more opportunities to find that one, next, best career. So the more thorough the query, the better. Right?
Wrong
If your keyword query misses the mark, or your location is not properly defined in terms of the search algorithms, then “thorough” is not enough. At RhinoGATOR, we made one assumption… well, truth be told, it was not much of an assumption. We actually profiled real job seekers doing real job searches, and determined that making the user “search” for the job search query box was just plain stupid.
So, every page has the search box right on top! With your last search populated in the box so you can see EXACTLY how you created the results on your screen. Not happy with the results? Tweak the query.
Happy with the results? Save them as an “email update” to put RhinoGATOR on task, 24×7, 365 days a years, searching for that one, best career destiny.
If we can help, give us a shout. Via email. Or phone.
How refreshing, real people concerned about YOUR job search. For us, our mantra is more than a few words, it is a mission statement and calling to help make a difference in the world:

“I’m looking for a software engineer for my business. Please review
my posting and let me know what I should do to get better results.” —J.S.
I did. It was perfect. Best posting I ever read, man!
So why did he pull the posting? Great question. In his own words, “I got a couple of resumes but also a few comments about it being too negative. I’m going to rework it…”
How sad.
His crime? He wanted responsible, passionate adults to apply. And asked the entitlement minded [my word choice, not his] not to waste his time.
I love the G. Gordon Liddy book, When I was a Kid, this was a Free Country. It’s message for Hiring Companies: if you want a workforce destined for great things, you must hold them accountable. There is no better time to begin that process than during recruitment.
Remind me to tell you about the 3Rs… where one “R” is recruiting.

Okay, trick question: What term describes your methodology for finding your next, best career?
How many said, “Job Search”?
Great answer. For those that want to talk about Job Boards or Job Aggregators, just let me say that you are close, but “no cigar.”
AT RhinoGATOR™ we believe that we have created the “Best Job Search Tool on Planet Earth™” … how? By focusing on the parts of the job search process that are broken! For example, the concept of the Job Board. You do know that the listings you see on a traditional board are the ones that the Hiring Company paid to post, right?
What about the open Job Requisitions from companies that could not afford to pay hundreds of dollars to attract attention? How are you going to learn about those openings? Did you know that only about 15% of the job openings in America ever make it to a traditional Job Board?
How can you find the other 85%

Saying Thank You
Reminds me of a job I landed years ago on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina with a publishing firm that was seeking an IT/IS support person. The job was not a good fit, or so I was told, and in fact, they already had someone in mind. “But thanks for coming in.”
Well, as you might guess, I sent a Thank You card.
And yes, I was surprised when the phone rang a few days later. The owner wanted to know why I bothered to send the card? Easy, I was taught to do so. See how important habits are? Long story as short as I can make it, the “shoe in” had dropped out of the picture, and all of a sudden, I was back in the running.
I got the position. Started part-time. Made some great technology come to life for the company and left a year later with a new friend and a great mentor.
Now, for the rest of the story, as Paul Harvey might say. I heard Dr. Eli Goldratt speak in person for the first time in November 2000 in Indianapolis, and driving back to HHI during the night, I asked a simple question: “What do I know, that no one else knows, that could help this Constraints Management methodology gain acceptance, faster?”
Well, I had learned how to create, staff, and produce a national business magazine working for the publishing company a year earlier. Just 95 days later, TOCreview was born! And so, the rest is history. Details are online in this PDF:
The Birth of a Vision
So, the moral of the story? Get that Thank You card in the mail!
